Careers at Sea
Does a career as Master interest you, but you aren’t sure you want to travel long distances? A career as Master Limited on Domestic Waters could be the perfect fit!
Your main responsibilities will include overseeing the proper functioning of operations, the ship’s safety, your crew, as well as the cargo and/or passengers. You will be the officer in charge of representing the ship-owner and will be called upon to make the final decisions regarding the handling and overall management of the ship and its contents.
As Master Limited on Domestic Waters, you will be called upon to manage passenger and service vessels. However, rather than long journeys on large ships, you will be working inland, on lakes, rivers and along the coast. This is a highly rewarding, human-centered career where you can put your analytical skills, leadership and critical thinking skills to work.
